Creative Documents
During pre-production, the Director works with every department head to bring the screenplay to life.
It all begins with character boards for wardrobe and makeup, mood boards for camera and lighting and storyboards for... well... everybody!

the table read & rehearsals
The table read is where all department heads and cast members get together to read through the screenplay, uninterrupted. It is often the first time the entire cast gets to meet and interact together.

It also gives the writers an idea of how their script plays outs and allows them to make any changes, in addition to answering (or even presenting) questions that anyone may have about their character, the department, or the story.

After the table read come the scene rehearsals, where cast members break off with the director and writers, and in our case the script supervisot as well, to work on individual scenes while further ironing out details.

In "Candlewood", several scenes were changed, albeit in small ways, during the rehearsal process, due to suggestions by the cast and director Myke Furhman.

Production Documents
Any film production is only possible if the process is highly organized.

The movie is shot out of order, so everyone must know what they are doing on any given day, from prep throughout the final shot. Any mistake in continuity can throw off the entire production, and on Candlewood, it was First Assistant Director Phil Rush's job to make sure everyone was kept on task.
What scene is it? Is it an interior or exterior? Is it night or day? What props are in the scene? What part of the story are we in? Is the wardrobe damaged? Does the character have a cut on his face yet? Documents like the below have all those answers for department heads to show up on the day and make sure they're prepared to film the scene(s).
